Hysterosalpingography (HSG), also known as uterosalpingography, is a radiological procedure used to examine the shape of the uterine cavity as well as the shape and patency of the fallopian tubes. It is a specialized X-ray procedure in which a contrast fluid is used to visualize the uterus and fallopian tubes. During the procedure, a radiopaque contrast medium is injected into the cervical canal, and X-ray images are taken.
