During eyelid surgery, the incisions are made along the natural creases. Excess skin, as well as excess muscle, may be removed, and the fatty bags around the eyes can be reduced. After the procedure, the skin is sutured and the incision area is covered with a special adhesive strip. In lower eyelid surgery, the incision is made either inside the conjunctiva or in the crease just below the eyelashes, allowing the removal of fatty bags. If there is not only fat herniation but also excess skin in the lower eyelids, a portion of the skin is removed as well. After the procedure, the skin is sutured and the incision area is covered with a special adhesive strip. The patient is placed on their back, and cooling dressings are applied to the eyelids.
