About the packageLaparoscopic cystectomy is an operation to remove an ovarian cyst.Most ovarian cysts are benign and functional, meaning they develop due to ovarian dysfunction and often resolve on their own over time without any treatment, leaving no lasting effects. If a cyst is large, continues to grow, or does not disappear within 2–3 menstrual cycles, a physician may recommend surgical removal. Cysts are also removed if they cause pain or other symptoms.
