About the packageThis is a surgery in which the damaged surfaces of the knee joint are replaced with metal and plastic components. The lower end of the femur is replaced with a metal implant, and the top of the tibia is replaced with plastic/metal components.
The knee itself is not replaced - only the damaged cartilage and worn bone surfaces are replaced.
The goal of the surgery is to eliminate the pain caused by joint surface wear and to restore knee joint function.

During the surgeryThe surgery is performed under general anesthesia. It is carried out through an incision on the front of the knee, measuring between 6 and 20 cm. The worn joint surfaces are removed and replaced with mechanical implants — an artificial joint. The procedure usually takes about 2 hours.
