About the packageThe operation is performed under general anesthesia. An incision (20 to 30 cm long) is made in the hip and thigh area. Depending on the surgical technique, the incisions may be smaller. The upper part of the femur is removed and replaced with an implant stem and head; an artificial acetabulum is inserted, and the artificial femoral component is secured within the socket. The surgical wound is closed with special sutures. The operation usually takes about 2 hours.

Who is this suitable for?When all non-surgical treatments (medication, physiotherapy, etc.) can no longer relieve pain, restore mobility, or improve quality of life, a hip joint replacement surgery becomes the appropriate option.
After surgeryAfter the surgery, the patient is transferred to the intensive care unit for several hours of monitoring, after which inpatient treatment continues. Typically, the patient remains in the hospital for about 3 days after this procedure. Physiotherapy is started in the hospital and usually continues for 6–12 weeks after discharge. When leaving the hospital, the doctor will provide you with instructions for further treatment.
