About the packageArthroscopic knee surgery – a minimally invasive procedure performed through small incisions using an arthroscope. It is used to treat meniscus injuries and other knee problems, reduces pain, restores joint function, and allows a faster return to active life.
During the surgeryThe operation is usually performed under local or spinal anesthesia, or a combination of both. Small incisions, approximately 0.5–1 cm long, are made in the knee area, and an arthroscope used during the surgery is inserted. The meniscus is either sutured or the torn parts are removed. The operation takes about 1 hour.
After surgerySince arthroscopic surgery is minimally invasive, you will be able to start gently bearing weight on the operated leg and perform light rehabilitation exercises selected by your specialist as early as the day after the procedure. It is important to remember to regularly care for and dress the wound according to your doctor's instructions. Full recovery and restoration of complete function usually takes about 6 months.
